Family Night Do-Over

After yesterday's interruption, today for Family Night we watched "The Thief Lord" directed by Richard Claus, starring Aaron Johnson, Jasper Harris, Alice Connor, Rollo Weeks, and George Mackay.

"The Thief Lord", based on the book of the same title by German author Cornelia Funke, is about six-year-old Bo and fourteen-year-old Prosper, two recently orphaned brothers that are tossed in the care of a cruel aunt and uncle, who escape their impending separation by running off to Venice. And in Venice, a gang of young rascals and their mysterious masked leader, "The Thief Lord", befriend the two brothers. To support themselves the children steal from the rich, from their headquarters of an abandoned cinema theater, and soon capture the interest of a bumbling detective. But, a greater threat to the children is something from a forgotten past: a magical treasure with the power to spin time itself.

Overall, it was okay movie, but not really my thing; though, it’s good to watch with kids, as Sana and Sufian really enjoyed it. I thought it was like watching “Oliver Twist” on Novocaine; and while watching "The Thief Lord" I was just like "yeah right" during the whole movie. ***TWO 1/2 STARS***

I thought it was shit. Not the worst, but not close to good either.
