This afternoon we had a surprise birthday party for Irfan, Mum’s school friend Razia’s son, who is 26 today. We wanted to do something for his birthday b/c his parents and sister are out of the country w/ his grandfather, and he’s here by himself; moreover, while away his grandfather’s kidney failed ending up in the I.C.U. (and has been there for several weeks), and Irfan has been down lately.
Anyway, the party went quite well. We ordered pizza, and Sarah got a cake from Konditor & Cook the great bakery in “The City.” And we got him a really nice black wool/cashmere, single-breasted coat, and I think he liked it. It was just a good relaxing, casual few several hours…
